Effable Terms of Use

These Terms govern your use of Effable. By using the app you agree to them and to the Privacy Policy.
1. The service
Effable is a personal finance tracking tool. You enter your own data; Effable does not connect to banks, hold money, or execute payments.
2. Not financial advice
Nothing in the app, including AI output, insights, and scores, is financial, investment, tax, or legal advice, and no professional, advisory, or fiduciary relationship is created between you and us. AI output can be wrong. You agree not to rely on the app as your sole basis for any decision, and all decisions you make are your own responsibility.
3. AI features
AI features can produce output that is inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. Always check important numbers and facts before acting on them, and treat AI output as a starting point, not a conclusion. Never enter passwords, full card numbers, or government ID numbers into AI features; they are not needed. You may not use AI output to build a competing product, and you may not attempt to extract or copy the underlying models.
4. Your responsibility
You are responsible for the accuracy of everything you enter, for all activity under your account, and for keeping your credentials secure. You must be at least 16. We are not responsible for outcomes caused by incorrect or misinterpreted entries, including entries you confirmed from receipts, voice, imports, or AI parsing. You are responsible for keeping your own copies of information that is important to you; we are not liable for loss of data.
5. Your content
Your data stays yours. You grant us only the limited license needed to host, process, back up, and display your content so the service can work for you, including showing shared records to the people you share them with. This license ends when the content is deleted.
6. Sharing features
When you add other people’s names or email addresses, you confirm you have their permission. Invitations may not be used to spam or harass anyone. Debts and splits recorded in Effable are bookkeeping only; they are not enforceable claims, and Effable is not a party to any arrangement between you and others.
7. Your indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the service, the content you enter, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of another person’s rights, including adding another person’s name or email address without their permission. This also covers claims brought by people you invite into shared accounts or groups, or otherwise allow to use your account.
8. Subscriptions
Effable offers a free tier and an auto-renewing paid subscription charged through your Apple or Google account at the price shown before purchase. Subscriptions renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends; manage or cancel in your store account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. Plans, prices, limits, and the free/paid feature split may change. Complimentary premium time creates no entitlement. By starting a subscription you receive access to digital content immediately; where a statutory withdrawal right depends on consent to immediate delivery, the store collects that consent at purchase.
9. App store terms
Apple and Google are not parties to these Terms, provide no support for the app, and are responsible for a purchase at most up to a refund of its price under their own rules. Apple, Google, and their subsidiaries may enforce the parts of these Terms that concern them. Your use of the app must also follow the store's own terms.
10. Third-party services
The service depends on third-party providers, app stores, and your device and network. We are not responsible for their acts, omissions, or outages, and any issues with purchases, billing, or refunds must be resolved with Apple or Google.
11. Acceptable use
No unlawful use, no attempts to break, probe, or overload the service, no reverse engineering, no circumventing usage limits, no accessing other users’ data.
12. Availability
We do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Features and the service itself may change, be suspended, or be discontinued.
13. Disclaimer and liability
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability. You use the service at your own risk. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for financial losses, lost profits, or loss of data, arising from or related to the service, regardless of the theory of liability and even if advised of the possibility. Our total aggregate liability for all claims is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or zero if you paid nothing. Where law does not allow these exclusions, they apply to the fullest extent permitted. These limitations do not apply to damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, to harm to life, body, or health, or where mandatory law does not permit them; in those cases liability is limited to the greatest extent the law allows.
14. Termination
You may delete your account at any time in the app. We may suspend or terminate accounts for serious or repeated violations of these Terms, fraud or abuse, legal or security reasons, or prolonged inactivity after advance notice, and may suspend or terminate the service or any account where necessary to protect the service, other users, or ourselves.
15. Governing law and language
These Terms are governed by applicable local laws, and nothing in them removes protections given to you by the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence. Please raise any dispute with us first at the contact below; we will try to resolve it amicably. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Translations are provided for convenience; the English version controls.
16. Changes
We may update these Terms; the date above reflects the current version. Continued use means you accept them.
