Effable Privacy Policy

1. Data we collect

• Account data: email address, name, sign-in method, and an optional profile photo.
• Content you enter or import: your financial records and related data, such as amounts, descriptions, categories, accounts, budgets, goals, and debts, as well as names and email addresses you choose to add for sharing features. You are responsible for having permission to add other people’s details.
• Photos you submit and text from voice input. Voice audio is transcribed by your device and does not reach our servers.
• Technical data: device type, operating system, app version, crash reports, and push tokens if you enable notifications.
• Usage events tied to an internal numeric identifier. These do not include amounts, descriptions, names, or email addresses.

2. How and why we use it

We process your data to provide the app and its features (contract), to comply with legal obligations, and in our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure, preventing abuse, and improving the product. We do not sell your personal data. The app currently contains no third-party advertising.

3. AI features

Some features use artificial intelligence, currently provided by Anthropic (US). They run only when you choose to use them. When you use an AI feature, the data needed for it, which can include text you type, photos you submit, and relevant parts of your financial data, is sent to the provider to generate the response; we send no more than the feature needs. Providers do not use your data to train their models. This analysis is a form of profiling under data protection law, but it involves no automated decision-making with legal or similarly significant effects. AI output is informational and can be inaccurate.

4. Sharing

We share data only with service providers needed to operate the app: Anthropic (AI features), RevenueCat (subscription status), Resend (email delivery), Sentry (crash reports), PostHog (usage analytics), and Apple or Google (sign-in and app distribution). Purchases are processed by Apple or Google; we do not receive your payment card details. If you invite someone by email, we send an invitation to the address you provide.

5. Analytics

Usage analytics are processed under our legitimate interest, hosted in the EU, tied to a numeric identifier, and not used for advertising or cross-app tracking. To object, email support@effable.app.

6. International transfers

Some providers process data in the United States, relying on standard contractual protections.

7. Retention and deletion

Data is kept while your account exists. Deleting your account in the app deactivates it immediately and erases it after a 30-day grace period, during which you can restore it by signing back in.

8. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of your data. Most can be exercised directly in the app; for the rest, email support@effable.app. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

9. Children

Effable is not intended for users under 16.

10. Changes

We may update this policy; the date above reflects the current version. Continued use means you accept it.
